Admission Requirements

The MITM programme is an inclusive graduate degree programme and we welcome applications from any industry with at least a Bachelor’s degree, and working in the translational medicine field or in healthcare.

English proficiency test scores is a requirement for all international applicants except those whose undergraduate or graduate degrees are from NUS, NTU, SMU or SUTD, or from English-speaking countries such as Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Minimum test scores for TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is 85, or for IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is 7.

Applications will be reviewed holistically for cohorts each year, based on academic performance, personal characteristics and motivations, and professional accomplishments.

Admission Process

The next application cycle will be for the 2025 Intake. Applications will open on 1^st June 2024 and close on 1^st May 2025.

All applicants are required to provide the following as part of their application submission:

STEP 1: Fill in Online Application and Referees’ Details

Applicants are to submit an online application at https://admissions.duke-nus.edu.sg/apply/

Applications open on 1^st June 2024.

Register for a username and password on our application site to proceed. Log into the application portal and complete the online application form, which includes various sections on personal data, academic records, past experiences, and a personal statement on the reasons why you want to earn a Master of International Translation Medicine degree, and how you see this adding value to you in your career. Where applicable for SingHealth staff, a completed copy of the Corporate Sponsorship Form should also be submitted as part of the Admissions Application requirement.

LETTERS OF REFERENCE

If applicants wish to include Letters of Reference to support their application, they may do so by filling in up to 2 referees’ details in their online application. Upon doing so, an email request with a link to the referee report will be sent to the referees.

Applicants may save their application at any point and return to complete the application at a later time.

STEP 2: Submit Official Transcripts and TOEFL or IELTS Scores (If Applicable)

Applicants should reach out to their respective institutions to request for their electronic official transcripts to be sent directly to Duke-NUS at admissions@duke-nus.edu.sg .

Results of TOEFL or IELTS

Applicants who previously studied in a non-English speaking curriculum will be required to present documented evidence of their competence in written and spoken English by submitting their results of TOEFL or IELTS exams.

To meet the English requirement for our programme, the following are the minimum scores that should be achieved:

600 (for TOEFL paper-based test) or
85 (for TOEFL internet-based test) or
an overall band score of 7.0 (for IELTS)

The TOEFL score or IELTS result is only valid for 2 years after the test and should be valid by the end of the application deadline for the programme.

Applicants should email a scanned copy of the official TOEFL/IELTS scoresheets to admissions@duke-nus.edu.sg during the online application period. IELTS scoresheets must display your Test Report Form Number.

For verification purposes, candidates are also requested to nominate our Institution to access your results online/electronically as follows:

TOEFL iBT: Designated Institution (DI) code of C974 through ETS Data manager
IELTS: Select IELTS Indicator ‘Duke-NUS Medical School’ through IELTS Test Report Form (TRF) Verification Service

There is no need to post the hardcopies of the results to us.
