Unlike undergraduate medical schools, our students enrol with a basic degree, such as science, engineering or business, and many enter from the workforce. Their maturity and diverse life experience point to a compelling fact: their decision to pursue a medical education and career change is backed by a strong sense of calling.

Widely recognised as a research powerhouse, Duke-NUS harnesses world-class talent to drive research breakthroughs and groundbreaking inventions that tackle pressing healthcare challenges.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Duke-NUS was one of first institutions in the world to isolate the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and to develop the first neutralising antibody test for SARS-CoV-2. This test allows for rapid and specific confirmation of COVID-19 infection and assessment of immune response to vaccination. These are on top of the many impactful research discoveries our scientists have continued to push through.
