Duke-NUS Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) - Innovations in education

Innovations in TEL provides a space for educators to explore, design and /or implement technology-enhanced learning in the professional context of Duke-NUS. At Duke-NUS, we employ evidence-based TEL innovation.

e-Pedagogy Driven, Values Alignment, Best Practices and Evaluative Research make up Evidence-based TEL Innovation.

Below are the showcases of some of the TEL projects completed at Duke-NUS.

Learning in 10

In order to train the future generation of physicians, medical information must be accurate, up-to-date, and readily available. By having greater accessibility to medical information, medical students anywhere in the world can practice high-quality medical care to meet the needs of the community, and ultimately contribute to a better health system for all.

Learning in 10 is a digital library of 10 minutes video lectures called VAPs (Voice Annotated Presentations). It can be used by medical students to supplement their lecture materials. LIT Reviews have been created by world-class clinical faculty and each video undergoes a peer-review process to ensure accuracy of information

M-SCOPE

The aim of M-SCOPE is to improve the depth of medical training by exposing medical students to outpatient experiences. It is used by participants and medical student users. The medical Student is assigned to a set of Participants with whom they must interact periodically and will need to log all the data they gather as well as their observations using the M-SCOPE web portal

The M-SCOPE Mobile App is used to collect data from a set of registered participants, where the data is used to monitor and follow up participants via the M-SCOPE Web Portal.

e-Personalised Self-Regulated Learning (ePSRL) Management System

Utilizing technology as the enabler, the ePSRL Management System is an electronic learning management platform that enables learners to (i) evaluate their perceived level of self-regulated learning (SRL), (ii) learn self-regulated learning skills and (iii) practise self-regulation in courses that leverage on the platform in the course of their study.

ELNA Learning Needs Assessment

ELNA (Educators' Learning Needs Assessments) system is a platform that consists of mobile apps and web portal to help AM.EI assess the gaps in education and provide a road map for the healthcare educators to attend suitable courses to become more competent.

It is also to determine how frequently educators perform various professional behaviors as defined by Academy of Medical Educators (AoME). It contains surveys to gather the health care educators profile and skills and provide courses recommendation to them.

The systems allows to generate reports for the progress/level of health care educators and courses history that have been taken by them.
